London 2012 Olympic Games
You may not think it but The Peak District is ideally placed for those visiting the country to enjoy the London 2012 Olympic Games. Whilst most of the events are in the London area, others are spread around the UK, with events taking place in Manchester, Coventry, Newcastle and Cardiff to name but a few.
The Peak District has superb road and rail links and some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. What better way to enjoy the London 2012 Olympic Games than to stay in one of the many wonderfully self catering cottages, hotels or bed & breakfast establishments in The Peak District and commute to the Olympic events.
With so much of the accommodation around London now commanding high premiums for the time of the games, it is reassuring to know that the majority of accommodation in the Peak District is not being increased at all for the duration of the games.
