Arbor Low is a Stone Age ‘henge’ monument in the North of England. Arbor Low is a site of unique archaeological and cultural interest. It is 375 meters above sea level. It is a gorgeous spot during spring and can be bleak place in bad weather. The reason for the construction of this henge is not known and it was constructed about 2500 BC and has a circular bank. It is 76 meters in diameter and two meters high with a ditch inside it about 1.5 meters deep enclosing a circular central sanctuary area.

The entrances to the henge are at the northwest and southeast of the bank. There are 46 large and 13 smaller stones which are arranged in a circle in the central area. The stones are lying flat and nobody knows whether they were upright or toppled. A Bronze Age tumulus has been added near the southeast entrance. The Arbor Low monument is in the care of English Heritage.
