Chatsworh Country Fair 29th - 31st of August
One of the England’s most spectacular annual outdoor events is the country fair held in Chatsworth Park that attracts large crowds from all over the country. This is a memorable event for everyone as there are will be perormacnces from military bands, demonstrations and parades, hot air balloons, parachuting and over 300 varied trade stands and rural crafts. There are also Country sports and pastimes including armed service displays, horse shoeing, Ferret racing, archery and sheep dog trials. During the weekend exciting displays ranging from a vintage car parade to hot air balloon races and terrier racing. For children there's a bouncy castle and old time fairground. There will be no Angling fair in 2008 at Chatsworth.
The Bakewell Show 6th - 7th of August
Bakewell hosts a large tented agricultural event in the UK which emphasizes the town’s connection with agriculture and the event is one of the oldest and is often known as the ‘Little Royal’. The event is over two days and attracts around 65,000 visitors to the showground that is sited in a beautiful location close to the banks of the River Wye. The first Bakewell show was held in 1819 but the in 1883 the show was cancelled due to Foot and Mouth disease and because of the First World War the show was cancelled from 1915-1919 and again because of Second World War from 1940-1945. Today the show is a major agricultural and horticultural event with a wide range of animals.
