Travelling to Peak District

The Peak District is easily accessible with plenty of train services on the Hope Valley Line from Sheffield to Manchester, the Derwent Valley line from Derby to Matlock and the Buxton Line and the Glossop Line linking those towns to Manchester with its International Airport.

The Peak District is well served by a number of international airports.

Manchester International, Leeds Bradford and Nottingham East Midlands Airport all offer excellent access to the area with all of them being situated within 1 hour of the heart of the Peak National Park.

Manchester Airport has a direct rail link into the Peak District area whilst Leeds Bradford and Nottingham East Midlands both have excellent road links.

All of the airports offer transfers to the area via coaches and all have well priced car hire companies on site.

There are plenty of train services on the Hope Valley Line from Sheffield to Manchester, the Derwent Valley line from Derby to Matlock and the Buxton Line and the Glossop Line linking those towns to Manchester. There are regular bus services from nearest towns such as Sheffield, Glossop, Stoke, Leek and Chesterfield. Long distance bus services offers access to Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton from Derby, Nottingham and Manchester.

The main roads through the Peak District are the A57 (Snake Pass) between Sheffield and Manchester, the A628 (Woodhead Pass) between Barnsley and Manchester via Longdendale, the A6 from Derby to Manchester via Buxton and the Cat and Fiddle road from Macclesfield to Buxton. Train journeys are relaxing and environmentaly friendly.

Travelling to the UK by Ferry.

Using ferries across the North Sea to Hull is easy and good value for money for travellers. An hour's drives away from Rock Lea, there are also excellent overnight European ferry services available, Other ferry services from Hull is the overnight ferry from Hull to Zeebrugges (Bruges) in Belgum.

The North Sea is very important for marine traffic and has densest population of ships in the world, also there are various sea-lanes of the North Sea that all major ports have easy access to. There are several canals and canal systems to help traffic between the rivers artificial harbours and the North Sea. There are speed ferries services for faster crossing.
